Marin County Gets its First Professional Wet Cleaner

Peter Sinsheimer, director of UEPI's Pollution Prevention Center, applauds the opening the first Professional Wet Cleaner in Marin County (a PPC demonstration site!), and reminds consumers to look into claims by new "environmentally-friendly" dry cleaners in the Albany TimesUnion.

Oxy Goes Green with Professional Wet Clean

Occidental makes sustainable chic as the first college in the nation to offer professional wet cleaning service to the campus community.

What: Professors and students model clothing that has been professionally wet cleaned by Sunny Brite Natural Cleaners. The fashion show will also highlight garments by green designer Stewart+Brown.

Last week I had a suit cleaned at OK cleaners, one of the growing number of garment care businesses that use environmentally friendly commercial wet cleaning technologies rather than dry cleaning machines, which depend on a toxic solvent.
