THE NEW LOS ANGELES is a powerful portrait of a city transformed by immigration, race and labor. The film takes the viewer on a journey from the bitterly fought, racially driven election that brought Mayor Tom Bradley to power in 1973, to the historic election of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Along the way, it profiles the political empowerment of Latinos and immigrants working in multi-ethnic coalitions to transform their lives.
